State Tournament 2010

What a great weekend for baseball!
The Cubs played in the state tournament and had a blast!
We had pool play first to determine the brackets
and we ended up as the 11th seed out of 18 teams.
Not the best, but not the worst.
Day 2 Cubs won both of their games
putting them two games away from winning the 1st place title!
Day 3 Cubs had an early morning game along with some rain.
Luckily it wasn't bad enough for a rain out so they got to play in the rain.
It was a heart breaker game...we lost by 1 point.
That meant that the best we could do would be 3rd place,
which was still good news but it hurt to lose that game.
In the last game for 3rd place state champs
Kaden pitched the closer and we ended up killing the other team 8-1!!!
CUBS TOOK 3RD PLACE FOR IOWA'S STATE TOURNAMENT

I am so proud of this kid!
He got to play every second of every game.
Regan told him that the coaches trust in him to
do his best every game and that's why he
didn't sit one inning.
He is either at catch, pitch, 3rd or short stop
which means he is part of almost every play.
It honestly amazes me at how great he is.
In this age group a lot of pressure rides on the
pitchers and catchers
(which I didn't realize until my son played those positions)
In their age group they can steal so if a ball
gets past the catcher and someone is on third base
they will most likely score.
And Kaden does an awesome job of stopping the
ball most of the time to hold off the other team from scoring.
His team puts a lot of trust in him to keep those runners from scoring.
Wow is all I've go to say about my son
and how he played this weekend!

#2 WE LOVE YOU!!!

More bragging....Kaden was awesome at bats too!
He hit 2 triples and 3 doubles.
People were asking me what I've been feeding him.
His dad might have bought him a nice bat
because he was so proud of him!
All I know is Kaden said that Regan bought him a bat....
I'm not asking any questions because I'm sure it wouldn't do any good!
It would probably just make me mad because of the price so
I'll just leave it at that :)
*see the lady in the background...I'm not the only one taking lots of pictures*

This hit was a double

he always gets that look on his face when it's a close pitch

No, baseball isn't over yet....
Allstars starts next week
and so does the Global World Series.

I've had a few people say that they could never
commit to that much baseball.....
well, we love it!!!
