Beggars Night

While many of you will be going Trick-or-Treating tomorrow night we will be part of the few people in the U.S. that celebrate Beggars Night, which means we will be Trick-or-Treating tonight. Weird, I know. We might not even be celebrating too much, Kaden woke up this morning with really bad croup. Hopefully he'll be better for the ward party tomorrow night!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Hahahaha, you know I looked it up on the internet and didn't realize that we are one of the few states that do this! This is what I read actually - "Children in most parts of Iowa are generally required to tell a joke or perform a trick before receiving a treat. This was a campaign originated decades ago in order to reduce the amount of mischief created on Halloween. They also schedule the trick or treating the day before Halloween and it is called "Beggars' Night". Again, this was created to keep the "tricks" and the "treating" separate and safe for children." Guess you learn something new everyday!
