Basement Update

This is the closest we've ever come to having a family room finished in the basement! It's getting closer and we are so excited! We hired someone out to finished the mudding and texturizing, which I am so glad we did. He has to come back a few more times but should have it finished by the end of this week.  And once that is done all we have left is paint, molding and carpet.  I do need to give a shout out to the missionaries for helping Regan a few times.  Regan said that Elder Jones finished the archway all by himself.  Luckily he was in construction and knew how to create the arch because Regan was struggling to figure out how to make it.  They also carried the last of the sheetrock down for him and helped him put on the corners.  We are very grateful for their help, and felt a little guilty asking them for their help, we even wondered if it was "legal" to ask them for help.  Knowing that they are here for a reason and probably not to help us finish our basement.

One last thing....anyone remember the ugly surround sound speakers Regan had to have sitting in my living room?  Well when we moved here there wasn't really a spot for them in our new living room (thankfully).  So, he really wanted to have surround sound down in the basement and he did all the wiring himself and will have his surround sound speakers on the ceiling and on the walls....instead of those big ugly ones that stood on the floor. I'm crossing my fingers that it will look good, and no more annoying speakers everywhere!

You feed and entertain the missionaries all the time. Just think of them helping you as a service project.

i'm sure those speakers in the ceiling are just for accents...the original ones will be back out...trust me, you can never have enough 'sound' in the surround-sound.
